Jul 18, 2021The Unexpected Blessing of MercyBy: Phil PeacockSeries: Unexpected Blessings“Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.” Matthew 5:7 Mercy is an unearned response to someone else’s need. It is the emotion of pity put into action. And it is displayed in the character of God Himself! In the scriptures, mercy goes hand-in-hand with compassion. We see this in the story of The Good Samaritan.
- The Notion—noticing a need
- The Emotion—moving beyond sympathy to empathy

Jun 20, 2021Building Walls Around Your FamilyBy: Phil PeacockSeries: (All)“Building Walls Around Your Family” Nehemiah 2:11-18 Nehemiah was the cup-bearer for King Artaxerxes of Persia at the time the Jewish exiles were returning to their homeland. He was appointed governor for his people, and made rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem his top priority. On this Father’s Day, his example provides some valuable lessons for parents who want to build walls of protection around their families.
